The mission of Austin Wildcats Basketball Incorporated is to provide the youth of Austin and the surrounding area opportunities for personal growth and development by offering a safe, supervised and positive environment. AWBI receives no local or state financial support and relies solely upon private donations and program registration fees to fund its programs.

A priority of the mission is to provide equal participation opportunities for all youth. Therefore, Austin Wildcats Basketball Incorporated offers a limited number of partial scholarships to students who otherwise would not be able to participate. The availability of partial scholarships and the amount of each award is dependent on the amount of funds available in the AWBI Scholarship Fund.

Applicants are eligible for a partial scholarship of seasonal program fees only. A player's equal contribution to teams playing in outside leagues and tournaments are not part of the program fees and applicants are not eligible to receive scholarship funding for events outside of AWBI.

Scholarship applications will be awarded solely on financial need. All scholarships will be given on an individual basis: no team scholarships will be given or considered. Current and former players will generally be given priority over new players to receive scholarship funding.

Applications will be evaluated by the President and the Board of Directors, who will take into consideration the items addressed in this form as well as other pertinent information, such as comments of the coaching staff. Applications and scholarship discussions will be treated as confidential information, and will not be shared with those uninvolved in the scholarship process.
